2.3 FIRE SYSTEM OF THE PLANT
Figure No.2.1: Single line diagram of fire system in the plant
According to the block diagram of fire system of plant, there are pipe lines connected to the HVWS system, MVWS system, Sprinkler system and Foam system from the main header of the fire system. From main header, 9.0 bar water is supplied for above systems. When there is no fire, system pressure is maintained at 9.0 bar every time.
There may be some leakages of above system. So there can be reduced the system pressure. To maintain the system pressure at 9.0 bars for above reason, jocky pump, compressor, and hydro pneumatic tank do the special task.
By using the water of hydro pneumatic tank, water is supplied to the main header to compensate the leakages of the system and to maintain the system pressure at 9.0 bar. When the system pressure is reduced to 7 bar, compressor is started and supply the compressed air to hydro pneumatic tank. After the system pressure becomes 9 bars, compressor is automatically cut off. Above process are happened, when the water level of hydro pneumatic tank is higher than the lower level of the tank.
After water level of the hydro pneumatic tank comes down to lower level of the tank, jocky pump is started automatically and supply water to the tank up to higher level of the tank. In this process, to maintain the tank pressure at 9.0 bars, relief valve has been connected to the top of the tank.
When there is fire in the plant, deluge valve of the HVWS system, MVWS system, Foam system are opened according to the relevant area of the fire. And also the hydrant and monitor system can be operated manually. Further deluge valve can be manually operated. During above process water pressure of the system is reduced below 9 bars. When the system pressure becomes 7 bars, compressor is started and tries to maintain the system pressure at 9 bars. But the system pressure come down to 6.8 bars, jocky is started and supply water to the system for maintaining the system pressure at 9 bars. When the system pressure is reduced further, each main fire pump is started automatically at 6.5 bars, 5.5 bars and 4.5 bars pressures of the system respectively. When the system pressure becomes 3.5 bars, diesel fire pump is started automatically.
Amazing and useful blog page. Thanks for posting this. It’s useful and useful. Keep up the excellent.Hydro Pneumatic Systems
